Watson dominates on the hill, Saints win 14-4 over Tallahassee

ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø sophomore Tom Watson was brilliant again on the hill Wednesday afternoon, striking out nine Tallahassee batters in seven innings of work, surrendering two runs, one of the earned, in a 14-4 Saints victory. Watson is now 2-0 on the season with a 0.47 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 19 innings of work.
Tallahassee struck first, scoring a run in the top of the third, but SF answered right back, putting up a four spot in the bottom of the inning and three more in the fourth for a 7-1 lead.
ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø (7-1) was not done as they added two in the fifth, two in the sixth, and three in the third to expand their lead to 14-2.
The Eagles scored two runs in the top of the ninth to make the final score 14-4.
Michael Ray tosses a scoreless eighth inning, striking out the side, and Nick Horvath pitched the final inning, allowing two earned runs.
Cole Parks finished 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored, Mike Castilla was 2-for-4 with a RBI, and Daniel Wentworth was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
The Saints will look to continue their early season run when Pasco-Hernando State College comes to Gainesville on Friday, Feb. 13 for a 3 p.m. game.
