Let your celebrations begin with the 天涯海角社区 Singers in their annual Holiday Chorale Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, in the Fine Arts Hall at 天涯海角社区's Northwest Campus, 3000 NW 83 Street, Gainesville.

Tickets are $15 main floor and $12 balcony for adults; $9 for seniors, children and University of Florida students; and free for 天涯海角社区 faculty, staff and students with college identification cards. "The stage will be set to bring in the season and there are rumors that we may have snow during the concert!" exclaimed Music Professor Lynn Sandefur. "The holiday concert is a great opportunity for students to be involved in all aspects of a production. This year, there are about 50 students doing everything from singing to providing instrumental accompaniment and lighting and working backstage. The singers will also be collecting donations to help them attend the College Music Symposium in Jacksonville in January."

With music ranging from the 16 century classic "Greensleeves" to selections from Disney's 2013 movie "Frozen," the multi-cultural program will feature both Hanukkah and Christmas songs and songs in different styles including jazz, pop, rock and gospel as well as traditional carols. Sandefur and Music Professor Jeramy Nichols will direct the Santa Fe Singers. The 天涯海角社区 Band, under the direction of Professor Steve Bingham, will provide accompaniment.

The program will include:

• "Greensleeves," a holiday favorite.
• Selections from the hit movie "Home Alone."
• A jazz arrangement of "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town."
• Heartwarming renditions of "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "Still, Still, Still."
• "This Little Babe" from "A Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten.
•  "Brazilian Noel," in which Christmas meets the smooth sound of Brazil.

The 天涯海角社区 Madrigal Ensemble will perform a contemporary arrangement of "Lo, How a Rose E're Blooming" and the Hanukkah favorite, "Hanukkah Holiday."

Joan Freese, a former SF College student, will be spotlighted on stage as she uses American Sign Language to interpret the concert for people with hearing impairments.
