The ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Big Band, ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Jazz Combo and ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Rhythm and Blues Band will present "An Evening of Jazz" at the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Fine Arts Hall at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014. The hall is located at the Northwest Campus, 3000 NW 83 Street, Gainesville.

Tickets are $15 main floor and $12 balcony for adults; $9 for seniors, children and University of Florida students; and free for ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø faculty, staff and students with college identification cards. "This is the 8 annual 'Evening of Jazz' and we think there's something on the program for all jazz fans and music lovers," said SF College Music Professor Steve Bingham, who directs the bands. Professor Lynn Sandefur's voice studio students are also featured in the concert.

The featured composers are a who's who of jazz and R&B greats including Charlie Parker, Billy Strayhorn, Count Basie, Sonny Rollins, Lerner & Loewe, Roy Orbison, Edward Holland and Eddie Floyd.

The six-piece ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Jazz Combo's performance will include "Take the 'A' Train," "Yardbird Suite," "Perdido," and "Angel Eyes."

The 19-piece ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Big Band, featuring vocalists Tom Lewis and Alix Williams, will perform "Almost Like Being in Love," "Fly Me to the Moon," and "I Only Have Eyes for You."

With vocals by Alex Cervinka and Artyssa Grant, the 11-piece ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Rhythm and Blues Band will perform "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Knock on Wood," "Blue Bayou," and "Shake a Tailfeather."

The ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Big Band has performed at Carnegie Hall, Epcot, Florida's Lakeside Jazz Festival and CityWalk Universal Studios. The band also tours high schools throughout North Central Florida.
