Gainesville, FL – The ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Saints and Daytona State Falcons combined for 16 runs and 29 hits on Friday afternoon in Gainesville with DSC coming out on top of the offensive slug fest 9-7. The loss drops ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø to 25-17 overall and 10-11 in Mid-Florida Conference play.
ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø scored one in the bottom of the third to jump to an early lead and added five runs in the fourth for a 6-1 advantage. Daytona immediately answered, plating five runs of their own to knot the score at 6-6.
In the bottom of the fifth the Saints scored a run to retake the lead but for the third time the Falcons bounced right back, pushing a run across in the sixth to make it a 7-7 game.
DSC scored a run in the seventh and another insurance run in the eighth to take a 9-7 lead. The Falcon bullpen clamped down in the late innings to secure the victory.
Evan Leyva finished 2-for-4 for ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø with a RBI, Blake Berger was 2-for-5 and Jonathan Camp finished 2-for-4.
The Saints travel to Florida State College-Jacksonville on Monday, April 22 for a MFC contest at 3:00 PM.
