SF Softball: Saints Fall Short in Softball Championship Opener

May 8, 2025

The ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Saints dropped a heartbreaker on Wednesday, losing to the Seminole State College of Florida Raiders in the opening round of the FCSAA Division I Softball Championships. The game marked the fifth meeting between the two teams this season, and once again, it came down to the wire.

Seminole State, ranked #6 nationally, jumped out early by loading the bases and scoring a run on a walk in the bottom of the first inning. The Saints, ranked #15, kept things close but couldn’t quite catch up. The Raiders held the lead for the rest of the game, edging out SF by a single run.

After the loss, the Saints will play Gulf Coast State College at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Gulf Coast had an exciting win over Miami Dade in the Wild Card game but then lost 21-0 to top-ranked Florida Southwestern. If the Saints win on Thursday, they will still have a chance to compete for the District B Championship.
