Gainesville, FL – The 2014 Mid-Florida Conference champion ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø Saints (34-21, 19-5 MFC) ended the regular season on a positive note, taking two games from Hillsborough CC as 13 sophomores played their final home game at SF.

ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø pounded out 15 hits in a 7-1 game one victory, giving starting pitcher Maddy Peres (15-8) more than enough support.  HCC took a 1-0 lead after one innings, but the Saints bounced back with one in the second, one in the third, and three in the fourth, led by a solo homer from Geena Capitini.  SF added two insurance runs in the sixth inning for the 7-1 win.

Capitini finished the game 4-for-4 with a homerun, two doubles and three RBI, Sid Masso was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and a double, Celeste Bradshaw finished 3-for-4, and Rachel Hoeft was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In game two, Ashley Chapman (5-3) and Amber Maxey combined to toss a one hitter as ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø cruised 5-0.  Chapman threw the first four innings to earn the win and Maxey picked up the save with three hitless frames.

Sid Masso finished game two 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Megan McDonald was 2-for-2, and Rachel Hoeft was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

The Saints will now have a few days to prepare for the FCSAA State Tournament in Pensacola on May 2-4.  The first game for SF will be against a familiar opponent in Lake Sumter State College.  The Saints and Lakehawks met four times this season in MFC play, with ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø taking three of the four games.  The first round game will take place on Friday, May 2 at 12:00 PM CST.  Full information on the tournament can be found here.
