SF Student Awarded a Prestigious Gilman Scholarship

June 2, 2011

SF student Janet Chandler has won a Gilman Scholarship for Fall 2011! This is a highly prestigious award that is sponsored by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs at the Department of State. The money awarded is intended for a study abroad experience. Chandler will be using the award to study in the program in the fall. She was awarded $4,500.

"This is a major achievement for Janet and demonstrates to ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø students that they can get funding for longer, more expensive study abroad trips," writes Allison Nyamuame, Coordinator, International Education.

Chandler is the second student from ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø to win this award. The first was Danielle Rossi in 2009.
