RENFRO LEADS SAINTS PAST TAMPA SWISH, 79-66
Gainesville, FL 鈥� Sophomore guard Chad Renfro scored 16 points, including five three pointers, to help lead the undefeated Saints (5-0) past the Tampa Swish. This marks the fourth game in a row that Renfro has made at least five three pointers.
The Saints came out firing on all cylinders and led 41-24 at the half. They continued to stretch the margin in the second half, taking their largest lead of the game at 58-28 before the Swish began to climb back into the game thanks to free throw shooting. Tampa outscored SF 20-4 from the charity stripe.
鈥淭his game was a good opportunity for all of our guys to get some quality minutes against a zone defense,鈥� said SF Coach Chris Mowry. 鈥淲e didn鈥檛 close out the game like we would like to, but hopefully we will learn from it and continue to get better every game.鈥�
Four Saints scored in double figures, led by Renfro鈥檚 16. Jerome Clyburn scored 13, Mike Washington 10 and Ilija Ivankovic 10. 天涯海角社区 shot 45% from the field and 11-for-31 from the three point line.
The next game for 天涯海角社区 is on Tuesday, November 16 at 8:00pm when they take on TAAG Academy. The women鈥檚 team leads things off against Tallahassee CC at 6:00pm.
