MEN AND WOMEN TAKE ON CFCC SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13
Gainesville, FL – Coach Chanda Stebbins and the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø women's basketball team (17-8, 6-1) will be looking for a clean sweep of the Central Florida CC when the Patriots make the trip to Gainesville for a 2:00pm tip-off on Saturday. The Saints won both previous meetings this season in Ocala, 64-61 and 70-59.
Coach Chris Mowry and the men (15-10, 3-3 MFC) face off with CFCC for the second time this year after narrowly losing in Ocala on January 27, 69-66. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00pm. The Saints are still in the State Tournament picture and need a win to stay in the hunt to host a Mid-Florida Conference Tournament game on February 22.
Former SF great Laura Johnson will be honored at halftime of the women's game for her accomplishments as a Saint during the 1980-81 and 1981-82 seasons. She still holds 11 SF Women's Basketball individual season and career records, including All-Time Leading Scorer and All-Time Leading Rebounder and was a member of the first State Championship team in 1981-82, a year she was also named an NJCAA Second Team All-American.
Admission is $3 for the general public, $2 for seniors, children and military and free for children under 12 and SF students, faculty and staff with ID.
