LAZAR THROWS NO HITTER AS SAINTS SPLIT WITH HCC, 6-0, 0-1
Tampa, FL – Colena Lazar (2-0) nearly pitched a perfect game in the first half of a double header on Thursday night, surrendering no hits and one walk in a 6-0 win over Hillsborough CC. In game two, Jasmine Warren (1-1) took the loss after giving up only one unearned run on an error in the first inning.
In game one the Saints (3-2) had the bats going, scoring six runs on seven hits. Leadoff batter Alexis Sowell was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base, Gia Tomossone finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and Britany Doty was 1-for-4 with two RBI.
In the second game, SF managed six hits but couldn’t put enough together to score a run. Sowell was 3-for-4 and Warren and Colena Lazar each had doubles. The Saints left seven runners on base in the loss.
ÌìÑĺ£½ÇÉçÇø plays their home opener on Saturday against South Florida CC. The double header is scheduled to start at 2:00pm.
