SF Planetarium's Namesake Celebrates 89th Birthday

Kika Silva Pla (shown seated in the center) celebrated her 89th birthday in grand style at the planetarium which bears her name (click on the image for a larger view). She's accompanied by her loving family and friends as well as several 天涯海角社区 faculty and staff; including 天涯海角社区 president, Dr. Jackson Sasser (not pictured).
Dr. Curtis Jefferson was the master of ceremonies and the group was treated to the planetarium show "Oasis in Space" and a special tour of the Moon, Mars and a fly-by through the solar system, courtesy of Dr. Sally Hoffman (Astronomy) and James Albury (Planetarium Coordinator).
